Organize is key this time of the year when you are out and about shopping!  Coupons are needed, credit cards are swiped and you don't want to be rummaging through your purse at the checkout while there are 20 people in line behind you!  Card Cubby is here to keep your "cards", coupons, and more organized as you shop til you drop this holiday season!

Holiday Guides

HolidayguidebannerAs I start holiday shopping (well really start to focus on it anyway, I'm one of those early shoppers but I have a long way to go and only what, 3 paychecks left until Christmas??), I've begun to notice there are a TON of Holiday Shopping Guides out there.  And not just the Toys R Us Big Book or Walmart's Kids' Holiday Book or Target's Christmas Wrapped guide, almost every popular blog out there has their own Holiday Guide to shop from.  All our networking pals have made it so easy to find the best holiday gifts and it's as easy as click, click, CHARGE IT, click!

Here is a list of some of the best blog holiday guides I have found and hopefully this will help shopping for your loved ones a bit easier:

Fall Wardrobe

221470_5970It's back to the corporate life for me after a nice long maternity leave!  And what a perfect time of year to return, best time for shopping.  My previous professional wardrobe is, how should I put it gently, a bit snug after baby boy #3 so I have the pleasure of updating my Fall wardrobe!

I am loving the styles this year too!  Ann Taylor Loft has always been a favorite of mine, and they are not letting  me down this season either!

They are having a fantastic Fall sale on select styles:  Buy one Top, get the 2nd 50% off...$20 off Pants...standard $6 shipping, I'm so excited!  My two favorite come back styles are plaid (for some reason I can pull plaid off, not sure if I love it but I wear it well) and the tie belt jackets (I am seeing them everywhere and I need to get one!  Our Fall weather here is still warm but my office is freezing!)
So needless to say, I know what I will be doing this weekend...shopping, and for myself for once!

Free Shipping

One reason I think twice about shopping online at stores that I can just go to around the corner is because of the shipping cost.  But as a mom and a career woman, do I possibly ever have the time to go shopping for me or the kids or a gift...I'm lucky I make it to the grocery store once a month!  Shopping online is convenient, and affordable now with Freeshipping.org.

With these free shipping coupons, you can now shop for gifts to ship out of town or just for those items you are too busy to pick up, without spending the extra cash.  Babies R Us, Baby Center, and Children's Place all with Free Shipping links and coupons (perfect for me as my whole paycheck goes to the kids) and over 800 more stores on Freeshipping.org

Christmas is just around the corner, or will be before you know it, so shop away with no worries on over priced shipping charges!  Another thought, from the FreeShipping.org blog, "Save the Environment By Shopping Online", use less gas...save even more money!

FreeShipping.org is a great source for JCPenney free shipping codes

Plastic_shopping_bag Anyone who likes online shopping knows the pain of heading to the checkout with your great deals, only to be slammed by shipping fees.

I recently found a solution this problem in FreeShipping.org. They have free shipping coupons to over 800 stores.

FreeShipping.org offers free shipping to so many of my favorite stores inlcuding JCPenney and Kohl's. Simply browse the list, pick a store, copy the coupon code and add it to the designated coupon space on the checkout page.

They have 4 JCPenney free shipping coupon codes as well as another 4 JCPenney coupons for other discounts.

I hope you like free shipping as much as I do. Happy shopping!

Happy Trails

Trunk Just because a lady like to go camping does not mean she likes to be without amenities. At least not this lady.

Which is why I think the Picnic Trunk with Table by Design Within Reach would be a great summer purchase. (Now yes, we're talking about a weekend camping trip here, not back country backpacking!)

At $200 the price tag is a little steep, but the fashionable trunk includes everything you need for outdoor dining: two wine glasses, two melamine plates, cutlery, a corkscrew, two cotton napkins and salt and pepper shakers, plus a table that folds out -- allowing you to work on a level surface instead of a tree trunk or rock.

The trunk would make a great wedding gift for an outdoorsy couple, or even a nice treat for yourself.

Designer glasses -- worth it?

Sunglasses Many of us have lusted after a pair of designer shades. Whether it's the gorgeous tortoise shell frames, or just the fancy logo, they can be enticing.

But are they worth the price tag? Jennifer Romolini from Shine says no since the FDA doesn't regulate sunglasses. Just because they cost a small fortune, doesn't mean they're protecting your eyes. Jennifer lists some ways to make sure you're getting the best sunglasses for your money.

1. Don't purchase a pair of sunglasses without a specific UV claim/label, whether they are fancy designer or not.

2. This label should reveal the amount of protection you're getting—what you're looking for is 95% UV reduction, but you can also take something called "UV-400" and “UV absorption up to 400nm,” which according to this story, is basically the same thing (eye wear may also be labeled "cosmetic," which means the lenses will block out just 70% of sun frying).

3. These guidelines have absolutely nothing to do with the price or label. Many drugstore brands, though probably not as stylish as you'd want, offer the highest level of protection. Conversely, many of the most luxury lines, offer zilch.

For Dad

Dad This weekend is Father's Day and if you need any last minute gifts here's some tips for you.

The Top Shelf Father's Day Guide is up on Mighty Goods. This year features every possible drink dad could ever want. I personally like the tequila in the hand painted bottle.

But maybe dad's not a drinker. For the more traditional father, Real Simple offers everything from golf bags to shoe shine kits.

And if dad's a techie, check out Digital Trends for every electronic he could ever dream of.

Here's to dad!
