PhotoHand

PhotoHand-professional-photo-retouching-comp_cards_headshots_photography
Why I have I become less and less photogenic as I age?  The wrinkles have come out of no where and I only seem to notice them in pictures!  Solution:  have the photos {the important photos} professional retouched and polished off to make me look my best on those special days!

PhotoHand specializes in photo retouching, restoration, and coloring. Say goodbye to red, irritated eyes, skin blemishes, even braces.  Your wedding photos are saved!  That mystery pimple is no more!  I want to do this for my 7 month olds baptism photos; he had a nice little baby rash all over his face, and against the stark white outfit his poor little face looks as red as can be!  No more throwing away bad photos or deleting them immediately, they can all be fixed and at an affordable price too!!

Oh but there's more, PhotoHand also designs photo books for that special gift or keepsake and also creates photo cards for whatever occassion!  What about for your business, need a web, logo, print design or banner ad, let them create one of the most professional looking designs you will ever see!  Go on over and take a look at their portfolio, you'll be amazed!

Claymation

What is Claymation you ask??  Claymation Studio is a super fun way for you and your kids to make stop-motion movies using your digital camera, webcam, or camcorder through your computer.  (Check out the YouTube video here!)
I'm always looking for fun ways to entertain my 7 year old on the computer, but still giving him the learning environment he needs at all times.  Claymation Studio is perfect for his age, it keeps his imagination alive while he creates away!

Also from Honest Tech, convert all your old VHS tapes into DVDs using your computer!  Quick and simple, I so need this for my wedding tape!  AND they also have (along with so many more techy things), an Audio Recorder to transfer your old cassettes over to MP3s or audio CDs.  You could make that "technical" person on your list very happy this year just by shopping at Honest Tech!

Internet Terms To Learn More About

California_030There is always so much to learn.  That's a good thing.  Now, with the Internet, there's more than I could ever keep up with.  But I'm trying. Here are some items that I wanted to share with you.

Amy Gahran, content strategist and info-provocateur from Boulder, Colorado, lists her Top 3 Online Tools for Journalists for Poynter Online.

  1. Furl, a free service where you can store a complete copy of any webpage to create your own personal online full-text-searchable library of interesting stuff.
  2. RSS feeds—A way to “subscribe” to content on the web and have it delivered directly to your desktop, bypassing email and spam filters.
  3. Feed search engines, such as Technorati, which let you stay on top of the blogs.

Amy shares the handout she’ll distribute this weekend when she speaks at the Society for Professional Journalists conference in Chicago.

And how about the term "RSS?"  Is that something that you have been hearing about, and are you still not quite sure what that is all about?  The technical acronym for RSS is “Real Simple Syndication”.

I recently meet a blogger that believes it should stand for “Ready for Some Stories”.  That's a link to a great article that Stephine wrote.

I hope this helps some.
